Meet the Staff

Meet the Staff of DBTwenties!

Beth Salvi-Hudgins, LCSW

Program Director and Founder

I have worked with teens and families on the NH Seacoast since 1995, providing both traditional and DBT therapy. I have a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I attended a year-long postgraduate trauma treatment program led by Bessel van der Kolk out of Arbour Hospital in Boston, MA in 1996. I have been intensively trained in DBT by Marcia Linehan’s team, and in 2019, I attended a two-week training in a variant of DBT called Radically Open DBT (RO DBT) with the founder of this treatment, Thomas Lynch. I have incorporated some of the skills and theory from this version of DBT into DBTwenties.

I am a lover of sunshine and the ocean, and the beach is my happy place. I look forward to meeting you, and I believe that our program can help you find your happy place too!

Erin Cox-Slosberg, MSW

Clinical Director

Hi! I have been working as a therapist in Community Mental Health since graduating from UNH with my Masters of Social Work degree in 1997. I trained with Marsha Linehan in 1999 in her intensive class and have been providing adherent DBT on a weekly basis ever since. I supervise and run a weekly consult group of therapists who also embrace Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am also an Adjunct Professor at UNH in the Social Work Department and do some consulting work for our local school district. I have been lucky enough to see how the concepts, skills, and support of DBT have been able to increase confidence, build healthier relationships and make lives worth living.

I love to travel, watch football, listen to music, try new foods, and adventure with friends and family. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy with you!

Christine Thompson, BA

Program Director – DBTwenties

Welcome to DBTwenties! My name is Christine Thompson, and I am both a skills coach and parent coach. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Anselm College in Criminal Justice. I spent some time working for the State of NH after receiving my degree, then I moved over to the mental health field. I have been in the field for over 20 years now. I worked for many years at Hampstead Hospital supporting a range of patients including those with eating disorders and developmental disabilities. After leaving Hampstead Hospital I went to work in community mental health, supporting adults with a wide range of mental health struggles.

With many of the people I have worked with over the years, I have seen how DBT skills can help someone transform their life into a life worth living. I look forward to sharing those skills with you!
In my free time I enjoy hiking and traveling, spending time with family, watching soccer, and hanging with my 2 cats. One cat tries to be a Zoom superstar, so don’t be surprised if he makes an appearance in one of our sessions!

Lia D’Angelo, RN-BSN

Yoga Instructor – RYT-200hr

My journey with yoga began at the age of eleven, when I was given a set of cassette tapes of a classic yoga flow sequence. From that point on, yoga became an integral part of my life that I have woven throughout my career. I began interning with an acupuncturist while studying in college and once I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, I went into my 200-hour yoga teacher training and became a certified yoga instructor. I began teaching yoga to children in an after-school program while teaching restorative yoga for adults.

As life moved forward, I felt a stronger pull towards combining holistic practices with Western medicine and decided to pursue an accelerated nursing degree. Upon completing my nursing degree amid the Covid pandemic, I was thrown onto a Covid unit and general medical-surgical floor and had a great introduction into the intensity of nursing. Fortunately, I have now followed my passion to become a pediatric psychiatric nurse and am thrilled to teach yoga and meditation once again!

Stephanie Diecidue, BS

Skills Coach

I am currently in the MSW program through the University of New Hampshire. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies in 2020 from the University of New Hampshire. Since 2020, I have worked in community mental health as an intensive behavioral supports provider in community, home, and school-based settings primarily with children and adolescents diagnosed with developmental disabilities, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to learn more about DBT to better support youth.

In my free time, I love being active and outdoors. In the summer time, I spend most of my time away from work or school at the beach or in the White Mountains on a hike. I also really enjoy spending my time trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

I look forward to working with you all!

Anita DiNitto, LCSW

Clinician

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing mostly in the state of NH for 30 years. I had the privilege of being part of the very first cohort of NH therapists to be intensively trained by Marsha Linehan in DBT in 1993/94. My career since then has been steeped in the DBT tradition, from providing adherent DBT to groups and individuals, establishing and directing a Comprehensive Outpatient DBT Program at an NH Community Mental Health Center to providing DBT training in a variety of clinical and academic settings. I am beyond excited to be a part of DBT for You and feel extremely fortunate to be part of expanding this life-changing, evidence-based treatment to teens, young adults, and their families.

Shavar Hale, BA

Skills Coach

I have worked with teens, adolescents, and their families in the community as well as inpatient settings for the past 10 years. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 2012 with a bachelors in Psychology. I have been attending the online adolescent DBT training program developed by Marsha Linehan, and I am a firm believer in its value. I enjoy sports, gaming, music and reading whenever I can. I’m excited to meet some new faces and share some of the skills that have been given to me.

Peggy Jones, M.Ed, CAGS

Skills Coach

Square pegs have always had a hard time fitting into round holes, and that was me in high school. I have always felt the drive to work with adolescents even when I didn’t like being one myself. Now, I am going on my 24th year as a teacher in a high school working with kids that share some of the same feelings that I once faced. I earned my M.Ed from the University of Plymouth and directly sought to get my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Educational Leadership, as well as an Administrative Certification in Curriculum Development. I have been trained as a CASA volunteer and have significant training in how to successfully connect with teens.

I am successfully “living the dream”, and when I am not doing the thing I love best, helping teens build resilience, I am sitting on a beach with a good book or hanging out in my gardens. I look forward to this next chapter in my life working with DBTwenties.

Allie Levy, BA Psy

Clinical Assistant and Skills Coach

Hello! I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire in 2015. My passions have always been aligned with supporting others through difficult times and promoting healing in any and all ways. Since graduating from UNH I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, worked with teens and adults in an inpatient psychiatric setting, created and facilitated curriculum for a substance use disorder partial hospitalization program, and was part of a team whose work on motivations for disclosure of violence was published in a peer-reviewed journal in 2017.

I am a new mom, so outside of work hours you can usually find me doing tummy time, encouraging the word “mama”, and getting plenty of slobbery baby snuggles. I also enjoy skiing, kayaking, playing video games, and sitting in front of a fire (either outside or inside in the wood stove) at the end of the night.  Winter is my favorite season as I find the cold air refreshing and the snow both beautiful and magical. I’m also lucky enough to have two rescue kitties who get into a lot of trouble but are too cute to get mad at!

For me, learning what to give my energy to and how to change my perspective of things has helped me tremendously in creating a better life for myself. I truly believe that DBTwenties will be able to help you do the same thing, and I am so grateful and excited to be a part of it!

Lori Mattison, LMHC, LADAC

Lead Clinician

I have worked with teens and adults in a variety of settings in New York and New Hampshire over my career, which began working with court-placed teenage girls in 1988. I have a Master’s Degree in Community Psychology and Counseling from Sage Graduate School and have been providing traditional therapy with a heavy incorporation of DBT skills training for the better part of the last fifteen years. I have trained in DBT based on the Marcia Linehan approach in 2005. In 2020, I also completed a 25-hour Intensive DBT training to refresh my skill set.

I am the proud mother of two young adult children, and now that I am mainly an empty-nester, they have been replaced by an adorable rescue dog. When not working, I enjoy the beautiful variations of the New England seasons or settling into a cozy spot in my home with a good book and cup of tea. I believe a positive outlook can be the key to finding peace within ourselves and managing the inevitable stressors of the human experience. I hope in our work together I can help you develop the skills that can bring you a sense of positivity and peace!

Shelby Phoenix

Yoga Instructor – RYT-200

I am a 200-hour registered yoga teacher, certified life coach, and entrepreneur. Since I was a teenager, my grandmother encouraged me to pursue yoga. In my twenties, I finally took her advice and turned to yoga to manage my anxiety and mood disorder. I have been practicing yoga ever since. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2020 at Exeter Power Yoga in Exeter, NH. Since then, I have also completed a certification in teen yoga and meditation. I am passionate about the healing powers of yoga—for both mental and physical health—and sharing these benefits with others.  In 2021, I left my career as a 6th-12th grade art teacher to pursue my passion.

In my free time, I love going on adventures with my fiancé, cuddling with my cats, and experimenting with new vegan recipes in the kitchen.
